Louize Nissen Costume designer

Louize is an internationally acclaimed Costume Designer working in both film and high end television series. She has won a plethora of awards for her stunning costumes including for the Tarik Salah´s Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury prize winner, “The Nile Hilton Incident”, Michael Noer’s “Before the Frost” and, most recently, for the HBO television series “Beforeigners “(2021).

She also designed the costumes for the Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated “Kon-Tiki”, directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning.

Her other credits include Tobias Lindholm’s Academy Award nominated, A War.
Louize designed the costumes for Lone Sherfig’s “The Kindness of Strangers”, starring Zoe Kazan, Bill Nighy, and Caleb Landry Jones and most recently Erik Poppe’s “The Emigrants”.

She is currently completing a new drama series for PBS and Beta set in 1926 called “Hotel Portofino”, starring Natascha McElhone and Anna Chancellor.

Louize is a Scandic/American with base in Denmark. with her background from the Royal Danish school of handicrafts, she has a broad knowledge of clothing design,fabriks and handirafts. And whilst she loves working across all genres, from contemporary scandinavian coolness to detailed period dramas, an dystopian worlds, she particularly enjoys projects that involve intense research and attention to detail.
